About Emma Harrop
You are Important
- Perhaps you need support and understanding with the anxieties that life often brings.
- It can be incredibly tough; feeling as though you’re on your own, or that those around you don’t understand.
- Maybe you don’t want to share your thoughts and feelings with those closest to you…
What’s on Offer?
- During therapy, you will find a relaxed, safe and confidential space to explore where you are, make sense of things, reflect and discover the changes you would like to make.
- We can look at how you can put the foundations into place to make those changes real.
- You may have already gone through some significant changes and could be feeling overwhelmed.
- I will listen to you, offer confidentiality, respect, empathy and warmth. I am with you in the session, not leading you, but by your side. Together we will explore while you find your way towards improved well-being.
- I won’t judge you, I might gently challenge you to help you to move and grow.
- You will have my support and trust in our therapeutic relationship.
- You will be heard, without being judged.
- Often during your first session you will wonder what to bring. Just bring yourself – that’s all you will need.
- COVID 19 Government Guidelines currently recommend online sessions using one of our available secure links.
My training, work experience and any achievement
My Background:
I dipped my toe into counselling 15 years ago, back then I was the client. My counsellor helped me to realise some things that were staring right at me; things that I simply couldn’t grasp on my own. I owe her such a lot; she helped me to move on when I was stuck and struggling, juggling too much stuff and simply not keeping up - with myself.
A couple of years later I found myself in the classroom, a short course on Counselling Concepts - I was hooked!
Five more years of evening and weekend study and 120 placement hours later, (at some incredible places), I qualified as a Person Centred Counselling Therapist and soon after, set up Thoughts Allowed.
Since launching Thoughts Allowed I have been incredibly fortunate to have so many special people through my door, each one unique in their own right. I’m very grateful to have spent time on their path with them, when they’ve need it.
